Found this post in leaving through a newspaper insert and seeing an article by Jeff on choosing the right painter.

My question: Is it possible to paint hardiplank exteriors in temps below 60 degrees?

Excellent question! Not all homeowners consider the temperature when they think about painting the exterior of their home.

The short answer is yes, exteriors can be painted in temperatures below 60 degrees, regardless of the building material. The key is to make sure that the surface is not wet and has low moisture content. A moisture meter may be used to help determine if the surface is ready to paint. Hardiplank siding has the added benefit of not absorbing water!

While temperatures above 60 degrees are ideal, most paints are formulated for temperatures above freezing (34 degrees). Waiting for warmer days is recommended, but Hardiplank siding can be painted and fully warrantied even on a 50 degree day in February.

Found your website through a Yahoo search, and found the post by clicking around your website. Do I still qualify for the special even though it’s past the 15th of Feb? Looking for a quote on an exterior paint job on our house and a large shop.
