Quality is never something you should sacrifice simply to get a great deal on your painting project, especially since an improperly trained or inexperienced painter may end up costing you more than a professional ever could.

Booking

You have a few options in regards to how you choose to book your painting quote, and the most common are email, online bookings, or by contacting a contractor via your phone. Prepare yourself to hear back from a person representing the company shortly after making your call or online inquiry and also to ask several basic questions regarding your project to help the contractor better understand what you need. These questions will typically be about what type of painting project you wish to complete, whether or not you plan to use more than one color, or if you need any detail work done such as painting a wall in a certain pattern to suit your needs.

Once they are aware of the scope of work that you need, they will help you to set up a date and time for your quotation that is tailored around your individual schedule. You should expect to hear from the representative coming to your property for the quotation the day before or the morning of your appointment as a twofold courtesy designed to remind you of your appointment and to offer the chance to reschedule. If you do not receive such a call, it may indicate that the contractor coming to your property is not highly interested in putting your needs first.

Professionalism

Any contractor serious about their work will arrive in attire clearly stating their purpose there or, at the very least, attire showing they take professionalism seriously. While a pair of jeans may not necessarily indicate a lack of professionalism, you should not open the door to welcome in your contractor and find a person dressed as if he or she only planned to visit the grocery store that day. Additionally, they should come in a vehicle clearly marking their company name with branding included, as this is a clear indication they are part of a larger company and not an individual contractor.
